Preventive Dentistry Protects Your Health

I like to focus on prevention as the foundation of our dental practice. By scheduling routine visits every six months for teeth cleanings and checkups, we can help you avoid common problems like tooth decay, gum disease, and dental emergencies. I will screen you for early signs of concern and inform you of any treatment needs that can save you time, stress, and money in the long term.

Periodontal Health and Overall Health

mother and daughter smiling

Understanding the close relationship that periodontal (gum) disease has with your overall well-being is essential. The bacteria causing the infection of gum disease, which impacts your soft tissues and bone, is also connected with other non-dental systemic health concerns, such as:

  • Heart disease
  • Diabetes
  • Dementia
  • Stroke
  • Arthritis
  • High blood pressure
  • Pregnancy complications

This means that when you suffer from gum disease, you’re more susceptible to developing these other chronic health concerns, and vice versa. Routine visits with me for preventive checkups are one of your best defenses against problems like gum disease.
