How do implant-supported dentures work?

Implant-supported dentures work by anchoring an entire upper or lower arch of prosthetic teeth to dental implants that are placed into your jawbone.

They offer more stability than traditional removable dentures, making them a popular tooth replacement option.

The Procedure: What to Expect

  • When you visit us for a consultation, we’ll examine your teeth and gums and take x-rays to see if you’re a good candidate.
  • Before we begin treatment, we’ll go over your treatment plan and answer all your questions.
  • If you need any extractions or bone grafting before we place your implants, we’ll schedule those procedures first.
  • On the day of your implant procedure, we’ll numb your mouth and surgically place the implants into your jaw. Over the next several months, your implants will fuse with your jawbone. Once they’re healed, we’ll add a connector piece. Your new denture will snap securely onto these abutments.
  • All that’s left is to check your bite and go over cleaning and maintenance. You’ll be able to smile with confidence and eat your favorite foods without worrying about slipping.
